NASCAR has unveiled a new set of rules for the Sprint All-Star Race. In the first two 50-lap segments, drivers must pit for at least 2 tires under green with the pit stop in the second segment coming before 15 laps to go. A random draw will then decide whether the front nine, 10 or 11 cars will have to do a 4-tire pit stop prior to the final 13-lap segment (only green-flag laps count) and the rest of the field won't be allowed to pit.

The Bengals' locker room resembled a study hall early Friday. In between interviews with reporters, several rookies (drafted, undrafted and try-out players) were burying themselves inside their locker cubby holes or sitting on the floor while flipping through team-issued notebooks and taking notes. Like other rookies around the league, they are getting their first taste of an NFL playbook. Alas, the schooling continues.

The Raptors have gone from producing 107 points per 100 possessions in the regular season to just 97.3 in the playoffs. Much of it is a product of a halfcourt offense that is too slow to get into its sets, struggles if the first action doesn't work and lacks execution. Granted, for all of that Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan are shooting a combined 32.5 percent in the postseason, and Toronto is so reliant on those players that it's tough for everyone else as a result with them struggling.
