The Panthers signed tight end Eric Wallace, a former college basketball and Australian football player who last played the NFL version of football at the age of 14, to a three-year deal. A North Carolina native, Wallace played basketball one year for Ohio State and three years for DePaul. "I grew up a Carolina fan," Wallace told the team website. "Today, the dream came true."

Heavyweight world titleholder Deontay Wilder and challenger Chris Arreola tested negative in their Voluntary Anti-Doping Association blood and urine tests in conjunction with their July 16 title fight in Birmingham, Alabama, according to the Alabama Athletic Commission.
