The Cardinals let go Chris Correa after an "imposed leave of absence," a lawyer for Cardinals executives said today. The lawyer for chairman Bill DeWitt Jr. and GM John Mozeliak declined to comment on the reasons for his separation. Correa had been one focus of the Astros hacking case, according to sources. On this date in 1963, the Braves' Warren Spahn and the Giants' Juan Marichal had a pitching duel for the ages, each going the distance in a 16-inning game. It was Spahn who eventually faltered, but cut him some slack -- it was none other than Willie Mays with the walk-off home run to win, 1-0.
