Sabathia pitched his best game of the year on Wednesday, throwing seven scoreless innings against the Orioles to snap a six-game Yankee losing streak. Sabathia will likely be replaced by Ivan Nova in the rotation. Reliever Phil Coke is being called up from Triple-A.

NASCAR has unveiled a new set of rules for the Sprint All-Star Race. In the first two 50-lap segments, drivers must pit for at least 2 tires under green with the pit stop in the second segment coming before 15 laps to go. A random draw will then decide whether the front nine, 10 or 11 cars will have to do a 4-tire pit stop prior to the final 13-lap segment (only green-flag laps count) and the rest of the field won't be allowed to pit.
