"This was fire fighting fire. I saw him putting on pressure and I said, 'Hey, you want to put on pressure? I'm the one putting on the pressure.' When you have two guys who can punch, this is what you get -- something spectacular." -- Light heavyweight champion Adonis Stevenson on his fourth-round KO of Thomas Williams Jr.

It's sad seeing Tim Lincecum scuffle through this outing for the Angels. He already has six walks in the fourth inning, has allowed four hits and a couple more hard-hit outs. His ERA is 8.45 and I'm not sure there is much incentive for the Angels to keep running him out there.

Down goes Thomas Williams Jr. in Round 4 and he's not going to beat the count! Adonis Stevenson was forced to dig in and fight and the light heavyweight champion came through with a spectacular knockout on a short left cross as Williams was pinned against the ropes.

Thomas Williams Jr. continues to close distance well and force Adonis Stevenson into a brawl in Round 3. You have to wonder if his chin can hold up trading power shots like this but he certainly came to win. Things are heating up in Quebec City.

As expected, Red Sox closer Craig Kimbrel will make a minor-league rehab assignment Saturday for Triple-A Pawtucket. Kimbrel, who had minor surgery July 11 to clean up a torn meniscus in his left knee, is expected to start the game and pitch one inning. He will be reevaluated Sunday, and if all goes well, he could rejoin the Red Sox next week in Seattle.
