If there is any driver who is poised to get a win this season, it's Martin Truex Jr., who sits on the pole for the Coca-Cola 600 scheduled for tonight at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Talking to his car owner, Barney Visser prior to the race, Truex knows he has a good chance. He has finished third and fifth in his last two Charlotte races, including 131 of the 400 laps a year ago on the 1.5-mile track. He has led 313 laps in the last two races (Kansas and Texas) on 1.5-mile tracks.

Jimmie Johnson has seven wins in 28 Sprint Cup starts at Charlotte Motor Speedway. His last win came two years ago in the 600-mile race at Charlotte Motor Speedway. He starts seventh today but he doesn't have a good pit-stall selection as the team received its fourth warning of the season for failing measurements too many times during at-track inspections. He was among the last to pick pit stalls for the race.
