No more wallaby for Wolverines

A recent Instagram photo from Michigan football players with a pet wallaby caught the eye of PETA, which says it tried to track down the exotic animal so it could give it to the Detroit Zoo. A spokeswoman from the school wrote an e-mail to PETA Thursday that "the student no longer has possession of the animal and it has been turned over to a responsible and appropriate adult."

Popovich's pitch to Aldridge effective

Sources told ESPN's Marc Stein that Gregg Popovich's pitch LaMarcus Aldridge Friday in Los Angeles -- both about playing with Tim Duncan and then taking over for him in the Spurs frontcourt -- resonated strongly. The free agent plans to take "a couple of days" to digest the pitches he's received from seven team meetings.
