The Dodgers' Clayton Kershaw has nine career games of 10 strikeouts with no walks, the most in baseball since the start of 2014. Through seven innings Sunday, he has exactly 10 strikeouts and no walks. The Dodgers hold a slim 1-0 lead over the Padres.

The Yankees are trying to avoid a sweep at the hands of David Price and the Red Sox tonight and Joe Girardi has shaken up his lineup a tad. Alex Rodriguez moves back up to 3rd in the batting order, Aaron Hicks and Ronald Torreyes get to start and Chase (.150) Headley bats sixth tonight. Why, you ask? He's hitting .421 against Price (8-for-19).

93-73 Warriors heading into the 4th. Somehow the Warriors must soldier on sans Anderson Varejao

Kevin Arnovitz ESPN Staff Writer

Apparently the first set of double technicals wasn't enough to defuse the fracas between Anderson Varejao and Gerald Henderson. The pair are whistled for a fresh set of techs just before the end of the third quarter and were summarily tossed from the game.

You can't start a brutal 10-game road trip any better than the Nationals have. They won as many games in St. Louis this weekend (3) as they've won in the previous eight years combined.

Anderson Varejao and Gerald Henderson exchange words after the play after Henderson trips over Varejao's leg. Players on the floor instantly tilt their heads up to see replay on big screen. None follows, but they continue to check back, peering upwards. Double technical fouls are ultimately assessed to Varejao and Henderson.

A determined-looking Clayton Kershaw is perfect through four innings against the Padres. The Dodgers left-hander struck out the first four batters he faced and there has been nothing close to a hit. The Dodgers are in the midst of a six-game home losing streak and will be winless on the entire homestand if they fall today.

Brad Keselowski won the GEICO 500 at Talladega Superspeedway for his 2nd win of the season. Kyle Busch finished 2nd, followed by Austin Dillon, Chase Elliott, Jamie McMurray, Kurt Busch, Tony Stewart, Clint Bowyer, Ryan Blaney, and Trevor Bayne. Despite the threat of rain, the race was was run the full distance without any issues. There were 10 cautions, including one for a large wreck that collected 17 cars.

Portland made up some ground in the second quarter, and trails Golden State 65-51 at halftime. After a chilly first quarter, the Trail Blazers have started to hit a few shots. Ed Davis chipped in six points in the quarter as a presence down low, while Allen Crabbe (nine points) and Mo Harkless (seven points) have been bright spots. Portland's dynamic backcourt of Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum continue to struggle from the field. They're a combined 3-for-19 for 14 points. Golden State is also abusing Portland on the offensive glass -- they've recovered 11 of their 25 missed field goal attempts.
