Jeremy Hellickson's trade value continues to go up as he pitched six scoreless innings tonight against the Marlins. He only had one strikeout, but he does have a career-best K rate to go with a 3.65 ERA. He looks like a viable back-end rotation option -- in fact, maybe for the Marlins.

Tigers manager Brad Ausmus has been emphatic about his reluctance to go to closer Francisco Rodriguez in a 4-out save situation. Made it clear he didn't want to do it again after June 1 game in Anaheim. He did on Monday night, bringing in K-Rod with the bases loaded and two outs in the eighth. That decision paid off. 4-2 final as Tigers take first game vs. Red Sox at Fenway

Orioles walk off on Rockies' error

Jordan Lyles couldn't handle a grounder and Nick Hundley couldn't grab the throw home, allowing Adam Jones to score the winning run.

Carmelo: MJ's 'timing was perfect'

Carmelo Anthony calls Michael Jordan's contributions of a million dollars each to two organizations "very big on his behalf."

With their 3-2 extra-innings win over the Rockies, the Orioles have now ripped off five straight victories. It's the fifth time this season they've won at least five in a row. If Detroit holds on to beat Boston, the O's will have a two-game lead in the AL East.

Heavyweight contender Joseph Parker will risk his status as the mandatory challenger for world titleholder Anthony Joshua by squaring off with Alexander Dimitrenko on Oct. 1 at the Vodafone Events Centre in Manukau, New Zealand, promoter Duco Events announced at a news conference on Monday. The announcement of Parker's bout, which is in his hometown, comes just four days after he also risked his mandatory status in a fourth-round knockout victory against Solomon Haumono in Christchurch, New Zealand. The 6-foot-4, 234-pound Parker (20-0, 17 KOs), 24, will be the smaller man against the 6-7, 254-pound Alexander Dimitrenko (38-2, 24 KOs).

This steal of home from Graham Tews of Ogden [Iowa] is straight-up impressive.

Jose Iglesias smashes two-run homer

The Tigers shortstop boomed a home run deep to left field in the top of the sixth to put Detroit up 2-1 over Boston on ESPN.

The Blue Jays are facing a tough decision with Aaron Sanchez. In the wild-card era, only Felix Hernandez has had a lower ERA among qualified AL starters age 23 or younger. But with another strong outing so far tonight, he's about to hit his career high in innings. Do they move him to the bullpen to save innings? But can they win the division without him starting? I'd keep him in the rotation and hope for the best.

Cardinals manager Mike Matheny on the Cubs getting Aroldis Chapman: "I think we're really due to get him, to be honest." Chapman has held Cards to a .099 average.

Lue's new deal puts him in good company

Tyronn Lue's five-year, $35 million contract extension puts him into a class with other NBA coaches who have won a title.
