NASCAR has moved the Daytona 500 one hour later to a 2 p.m. Eastern listed start time, one of 11 races it will start later in 2017 in hopes of finishing closer to prime time Sunday nights. Thirteen of the 36 points races will start in the 3 o'clock hour (Eastern), while 12 will start in the 2 o'clock hour. Only three races will start in the 1 o'clock hour in 2017, compared to 12 in 2016.

RICHMOND, Virginia -- The Redskins signed two receivers Wednesday, Kendal Thompson and T.J. Thorpe. Thompson played quarterback in college – he spent three years at Oklahoma before transferring to Utah to play the same position. But Thompson only played a combined 13 games. He moved to receiver in the offseason in preparation for the NFL. Thorpe played receiver at North Carolina before transferring to Virginia, where he broke his clavicle.

Redskins coach Jay Gruden said they want to keep former linebacker Trent Murphy as a defensive end. Murphy moved there from outside linebacker in the offseason but the Redskins need help there with the loss of Junior Galette. However, Murphy gained at least 20 pounds this offseason and would need to lose most of it to go back full time. That would be asking quite a bit.
