Red card! Chile's Marcelo Diaz is sent off in the 29th minute after picking up his second yellow card. Argentina up a man now, and they already looked the more dangerous team.

One of the most incredible moments of Sunday's Pike's Peak International Hill Climb was watching former IndyCar driver and current team owner Sam Schmidt, who was paralyzed from the neck down in a crash in 2000, drive his Aarow Electronics Corvette Z06. The car is controlled by his head and eye movements and puffs of air. "This has been an overwhelmingly incredible experience," he said. "For the first time in 16 years, I feel like a professional racecar driver again."

Argentina's Gonzalo Higuain just wasted a huge opportunity -- he was clear in on goal but shot the ball just wide of the left post. Still scoreless midway through the first half in the Copa America final.

After finishing 3rd in 400 IM on Sunday night Ryan Lochte says he pulled his groin in the breaststroke leg of prelims, which affected his performance. He said he thought about scratching but couldn't do it. "This is Olympic Trials." He anticipated getting a cortisone shot and then would see how his body responds to determine his schedule for the rest of trials.

Little of the 12.42-mile 156-turn road course at the Pike's Peak International Hill Climb is visible from a single spectator position. So Carlin Dunne treated me to a first-person view from the back of his Ducati Multistrada before the course was closed for race day. In 2012, Dunne set the two-wheel course record of 9:52:819 at Pike's Peak, which still stands after Sunday's 100th anniversary (and 94th running) of the PPIHC, the second-oldest motorsports race in the U.S. (after the Indy 500).
