OK, so some parents might disagree with me here, but a little trash talking is ok. As long as it's not mean spirited or personal and as long as it's your personality, a little hype doesn't hurt.

From a Man Who Knows Sports and the Pros Who Have Mastered the Game
We've all heard about "stretching" before working out, but it's just as important to stretch those muscles after a workout. A workout is just that - WORK. Afterward, you have to unwind and so do your muscles. Post-workout stretching doesn't need to be as thorough as the pre-workout routine but whatever you worked, stretch it out. Stretch it real easy. Trust me, your body will thank you in the morning.
Sports is all mental. Once you're on the field everyone is a player - the edge comes from within. The pros listen to music before games. It doesn't matter what type of music, but it puts you into the mood. From the time I was in high school, through college and this semi pro/club football league I played in, before every time I played football after college and even up until last year when I spent a day with the New York Jets in mini-camp, I always had my music before the games or practice.
Simple... work harder than anyone else. Whether it's your local gym, your local basketball league or on the golf course, out work everyone.
Eat Right For Cryin' Out Loud! I'm not a nutritionist, but I do have common sense and I workout regularly; I take care of my body. I don't have to count every carb or every calorie to know what's smart and what's not. Do I eat a sweet snack from time to time? Sure... but I try not to make it too late or too often.
Know how to lose weight. So you say you've been hitting the gym, lifting a lot of weights and the weight still isn't coming off. what exactly have you been doing? Pumping iron won't do it if that's all you do. The best way to shed pounds is cardio. PERIOD. Did ya hear me? Work the heart... cardio… burn the heart... and the calories will burn right off. You don't even have to do a lot of stomach crunches. If cardio is a regular part of your workout, you will see that 2-pack turn to a 4-pack, then a 6-pack.
