Now that I got that off my chest, I can tell you about the pregame scene at the Meadowlands. The glitz of the Subway Series permeated its way through the swamps of New Jersey, as both Al Leiter and Roger Clemens (sans bat) strode the sidelines before the game.
With network producers and various hanger-ons crowding the scene, one hardly noticed Broadway Joe make his rounds or golfer Billy Andrade playing football with his daughter. It almost made you forget you're in Jersey. -- Marc Connolly
