Notes from the 1988 MNF season:
The St. Louis Cardinals franchise relocated from the Gateway City to Phoenix. The Monday Night crew made its way to the desert in Week 2, as the Cards hosted the Dallas Cowboys.
It was arguably the most exciting Monday Night season to date, as 10 of the 16 games (62.5 percent) were decided by eight points or less.
Six new MNF records were set or tied.

*Eric Dickerson's 4 rushing TDs versus Denver on Oct. 31 tied MNF records for most rushing touchdowns in a game and most touchdowns in a game.
*Indianapolis' 55 points surpassed the single-game record set by San Diego in 1982.
*San Francisco's John Taylor established a new MNF mark with his 95-yard punt return for a touchdown on Nov. 21 against Washington, breaking Dennis McKinnon's year-old mark.
*Seattle QB Dave Krieg threw five touchdown passes against the L.A Raiders on Nov. 28 to set a new MNF record.
*Minnesota's Walker Lee Ashley tied Nolan Cromwell's MNF record on Dec. 19 with his 94-yard interception return for a TD.
