ABC's College Football Saturday

BCS No. 2 Nebraska 20, BCS No. 1 Oklahoma 10
Jason White
OU's Jason White injured his knee and couldn't lead the Sooners.
Oklahoma's vaunted defense got upstaged on Saturday afternoon in Lincoln. Nebraska's No-Name defense held the Sooners to 10 points and the Huskers made their bid to be No. 1 with a 20-10 victory over the Sooners. Nebraska adjusted its offense effectively after its option attack would not work, writes ABC's Gary Danielson, and the game was iced on Eric Crouch's 63-yard TD catch. After the game, the talk was about a possible rematch in the Big 12 Championship game on Dec. 1.

  • UCLA's defense looked those of years past and the Bruins saw their path to the national championship game blocked with a 38-28 loss to Stanford. ABC's Tim Brant writes that QB Chris Lewis was phenomenal. The junior -- subbing for an injured Randy Fasani -- threw for 250 yards and three touchdowns to put the Cardinal in contention for the Pac-10 title. The Cardinal held DeShaun Foster to 77 yards, half his nation-leading average.
