ABC's College Football Saturday

Michigan State 26, No. 6 Michigan 24
T.J. Duckett
T.J. Duckett and the Spartans have won 4 of 5 against UM.
Jeff Smoker, scrambling and off-balance, lobbed a 2-yard touchdown pass to T.J. Duckett on the last play of the game as Michigan State stunned No. 6 Michigan 26-24, ending the Wolverines' chances at playing for the national championship. John Navarre has struggled on the road and is no Brian Griese, but the biggest difference between the '97 national champions and the current UM team is Charles Woodson, writes ABC's Gary Danielson.

  • Carson Palmer swept left on a quarterback keeper, fought through one tackle and dived just inside the goal-line pylon to lift USC to a 16-13 overtime victory over Oregon State at the Coliseum. The Beavers, who must win their final three games to qualify for a bowl, missed a chance to win it with 33 seconds left in regulation when Ryan Cesca's 35-yard field goal sailed wide right -- his second miss from 35 yards in the fourth quarter.
