One of the few female skiers who can throw a 900 in superpipe, 2010 is VanLaanen's 4th Winter X appearance. She has a best WX finish of 6th, that in '09 SuperPipe. A threat at every contest she enters, VanLaanen was diagnosed with Chronic Lyme Disease over summer 2009 -- a disease that has been hindering her for more than 15 years. While there is no cure, she is now able to treat the symptoms. Look for a much healthier VanLaanen to challenge for the '10 podium.
