The 2008 Winter X bronze medalist in Snowboarder X, German David Speiser missed starting at WX 2011 after bruising his heel in practice. Just one month later, he was on the podium at the Canadian World Cup, finishing 3rd. Speiser is a two-time snowboard cross Olympian for Germany, making the "small final" in 2010 in Vancouver and finishing 8th. An avid road biker, he takes big bike trips every summer, including riding in Italy over summer 2011.
