Canadian Roz Groenewoud honored friend and fallen countrywoman Sarah Burke at WX 2012. Boosting the biggest air of the comp (14'5" on the first hit of her final run), Roz used amplitude, switch tricks and rightside airs to win her first WX gold with the highest score in women's Ski SuperPipe history: 93.66. Roz also won the 2011 FIS World Championships in Park City, Utah. A student at Quest University Canada in Squamish, B.C., Roz, who frequently makes the dean's list, is majoring in mathematics and physics. A member of the Canadian Halfpipe team and dates fellow WX SuperPipe competitor Justin Dorey.
