This Supercross veteran turned pro in 1997 and was considered a potential threat to Ricky Carmichael, but he never developed the last bit of speed needed to win races. As such, Nick spent some time in the privateer ranks. In 2006 and 2007 he stepped up his game and put a privateer Honda on the Supercross podium, but a series of injuries, culminating in a massive crash and concussion in the summer of '07 slowed him. His privateer team scored access to factory KTMs in 2008, but the bikes were not competitive. He was back to privateer status and fighting for top tens, for 2009 and 2010, but when factory Monster Kawasaki riders Chad Reed and Ryan Villopoto went down with injuries, Wey was given the gig as a replacement rider. He's not back to where he was in 2005-2006, but he's on a good bike, is a smart racer and could medal at XG.

MX for Children's Giving Thanks charity event has teamed up with moto- and supercross pros for an eBay auction to raise money for children's hospitals throughout the country.
