For 2009, Currie moved up to the premiere Supermoto class on the AMA circuit after two dominating seasons in the Lites division. In 2008, he logged a perfect season, six for six and earned an X Games bronze medal. Unlike most of his colleagues, Brandon never excelled at another form of motorcycle racing. He was a motocrosser growing up, switched to car racing, then became a two-time Go-Ped World Champion before taking up Supermoto after he "saw it in television."
