In 2007, two-time AMA Supercross Champion Chad Reed made a surprise appearance at a motocross race in his native Australia. Reed was expected to win, but Dan Reardon made big headlines by challenging Reed all the way to the finish. American teams began fighting for his services, and Reardon signed with Factory Connection Honda for 2008. He rode solid, but unspectacularly, before a shoulder injury ended his season early. Supercross 2009 didn't go well either, so the team switched Reardon to a 450 outdoors and he began to excel before another shoulder injury ended his season again. This year he's bounced between two Yamaha teams with some factory support, Motoconcepts Yamaha and Valli Motorsports Yamaha, but he's yet to crack the top five in AMA Supercross or Motocross. The Aussie needs a strong result to secure another American ride for 2011.
