Thomas created a splash in Nov. '07 when he became the first person in history to land a double grab backflip to dirt. He did it again at the MXWC in April 2008 for second place in Best Trick. At the Red Bull X-Fighters in Fort Worth, Texas (June 2009), Thomas went for the first frontflip in a freestyle comp. While he bailed mid-air, he earned big points from his peers for his tenaciousness. Thomas took a break from freestyle in 2010 (too much pressure, he says), but he returns for Best Whip in 2011.
