After losing most of his left leg in a freak motocross accident in 2000, Jim started racing snocross in 2003 and found success on a regional circuit in Michigan competing against able-bodied athletes. He took silver at the inaugural SnoCross Adaptive race at WX '10. He's also raced Super X Adaptive in XG (4th, '09; 5th, '10). Father to Hailey (10) and Austin (12), Jim works as a prosthetic technician at Wright & Filippis and puts on life clinics to help other amputees achieve their goals.
