Recent winner of the 2009 Extremity Games (Lites Divison), George Hammel was enjoying his first year as a pro in 1998 when he was injured racing at the Outdoor National at Glen Helen Raceway. After breaking his L1, George spent years doing therapy and has regained some movement in his upper quads. He can now walk with leg braces. Determined on and off the track, Hammel's competitive edge has parlayed well into the business world. He also owns two successful businesses: Airbox Studios and SellMerch.com. 2009 is his first trip to X.
