Rookie Alex Fiva has worked his way up the ranks in the Swiss skicross feeder system and 2011-12 is his first year at the top level. His 2011 season ended in February due to a collarbone injury, but he's healed up enough to take 3rd in one of the first World Cup skicross events of the 2012 season. Alex brings a special skill to the man-to-man competition: he plays professional American football in the skiing off-season.
