Joe Douglas, a paraplegic after a car accident in 1997 (at age 7), can't remember learning how to ski. Instead, he's a guy who looks forward: he's a student, an athlete and is working hard to get adaptive snowboarding into the 2014 Paralympic games in Sochi. Douglas competes in ski and snowboard events, but his true love is going fast and taking chances with jumps and terrain. Yes, he says he's made his mother plenty nervous.
