18-year-old Sandoval is the young gun of Enduro X. Raised as a trials rider, which gives him exceptional balance and slow-speed technique through the rough stuff, but he has limited Endurocross experience. He had to wait until age 16 to be old enough to race the AMA EnduroCross Series, and he immediately won the Trials Cross class against much older riders in 2009. But he only started competing on a regular (non-trials) bike in the pro class in 2010 and has only competed in three AMA EnduroCross events in that class. But he believes he can earn an XG medal.
