An alternate for WX Aspen 2012, this is Ellery's third WX Tignes event. The 20-year-old has several major podiums, including a 3rd at the Burton Canadian Open (Feb. 2012). Ellery's head may have been the only thing that kept her off the WX '10 SuperPipe podium (she finished 5th). After putting an enormous amount of pressure on herself trying to make the Olympic team -- "I didn't know a winter could be that intense" -- she returned in 2011 relaxed and refreshed. Ellery has a Michalchuk in her bag, plus big spins -- she's landed a Cab 1080. Her combination of desire, big tricks and skill could have her in podium contention.
