Once the most dominating woman in skiercross, Cline earned 5 Skier X medals (4 gold, 1 silver) between 1999 and 2004. Her last WX appearance was in 2004 when Karin Huttary thwarted her four-peat attempt. Following 2004, Cline retired to nurse old wounds and start a family -- Isaac (age 3) and Asia. She came out of retirement after giving birth to Asia (May 2008) to try and earn a spot on the Olympic team. She won her first event back in Aug. 2008, the Australian New Zealand Cup. In 2009, she won the most important World Cup of the season in Cypress, on the same hill as the 2010 Olympics. While the competition has increased ten-fold since Cline last was at WX, the long, flat Aspen course suites her style. Cline doesn't have a fast start, nor is she good at skiing in traffic or turning, but the girl can glide. If she can get out front she could stay there.
