You might notice some new names in the BMX blog contributor list over the past week, including Nick Ferreira. Nick is from the New England area but now lives in L.A. He publishes Holeshot Zine on his own, and more recently, did that awesome Chad Moore interview from earlier this week. And since he's new, I figured we should at least give everyone a chance to get to know Nick. So I sent him some Quick Fire Q&As to fill in, and here's what Nick sent back.
Oh yeah, if you get a chance, check out Nick's Holeshot blog, and heck, maybe even buy a real live print zine from him. They're pretty sweet. Here's Nick.
Describe yourself: Pretty normal guy from New England.
Describe your home: As of now, my home is a one-bedroom apartment in Los Angeles, but home will always be Southeastern Massachusetts.
Describe your bike setup: What every bike looked like in 1999. Sometimes I put a front brake on and sometimes I might throw a back peg on. But usually it is no pegs and one back brake.
Your favorite BMX trick is: Jay Miron's downside tailwhip airs on vert.
Your best friend is: I have too many people I consider best friends to put just one.
Something you wish you had more of in life: I'm okay with what I've got right now, but with that said, a large pile of money to not worry about that garbage ever again would be cool.
Something you wish you had less of in life: I'll keep what I've got.
Your biggest fear is: Snakes and heights but mostly snakes.
The thing you love the most is: Long lazy days that somehow include riding bikes, grilling food, drinking adult beverages, swimming and maybe working on some art things.
The thing you hate the most is: Los Angeles drivers?
A nickname you have is: Frank Grimes or Micky
The most common stereotype about myself is: I'm a Luddite that only likes tabletops. Only half of that statement is true though.
The last meal you ate was: Shrimp Gyozos
The last movie you saw was: "What About Bob?"
The last phone call you made was: Pinzon
The last song you listened to was: David Guetta featuring Akon -- Sexy Chick. Guilty pleasure I guess.
The best advice you ever received was: Sometimes you get the bear, sometimes the bear get you.
Your biggest dream is to: Work less and do more cool things.
Your first thoughts upon waking are: "What do I have to do today?"
Your most prized possession is: The shoe boxes of photos under my bed at my parent's house.
Your favorite place to visit: California is good to visit.
Your favorite food is: Fish tacos with cold Pacificos
