When Sean Burns was a young teen just getting into riding BMX, Mat Hoffman and the Hoffman Bikes flick "Until Monkeys Fly" ruled the airwaves of any given BMXer's VCR. It was a simpler time in riding, and the products were just beginning to mirror the needs of the riding. That meant stronger (and also heavier) parts, and Hoffman Bikes led the charge throughout the '90s. Influenced by the HB crew, Burns rode Hoffman's Low Drag bars. "In 2009, John Maul of Maul's Bike Shop hooked me up with a pair of the same bars and I just fell in love with the look and feel of them," says Burns. "And the first thing I thought to make when we started Bonedeth hard goods was some similar bars." Introducing the Bone Deth Sean Burns signature Deadman Bars.

WHAT IT IS:
The Bone Deth Deadman bars are Sean Burns' signature four-piece handlebars constructed of 13-butted 4130 chromoly, with an anti-rust ED coating and 22mm crossbar for strength. Measurements for the Deadman bars include 10 degrees of back sweep, 3 degrees of upsweep, 28" width and three available rises (8", 8.5", 9"). The Deadman bars are offered in several Sean Burns-influenced colors, including "Chrome-a-toast," "Gloss Coffin Black" and "Rat Grey." But expect to pay a few extra bucks for the chrome version.

WHY IT RULES:
Sean Burns answers this best: "Last summer I bent the Low Drags I was running and I looked everywhere in the Web world to find some. All I came across were some remakes of Hoffman Low Drags from 2003 that the guys at Hoffman hooked me up with, which were very small but it kept me rolling for about six weeks. Thanks guys! So the Deadman bars are a more two-piece feeling Low Drag, with more back sweep and a taller rise. They are the best bar I've ever ridden. And they have me more hyped on riding than I was at the age of 16, seeing Little Devil videos. I always liked Castillo bars, and Standard's Strip bars, but they seemed too boxy to me. Finally I have a four-piece that feels similar to two-piece yet attracts the eye." If Sean Burns can be that honest about a product without throwing in a few obscure zombie movie references or Dean Dickinson slang, you know it's a trusted product that will stand the test of time and look good.
