American stand-up comedian Jim Gaffigan went on the offensive earlier today, attacking the role of aging BMXers in society. "Hey 30-year-old guys who ride BMX bikes, thanks for making me feel like I have my s*** together," said Gaffigan via Twitter on Tuesday morning.

Gaffigan, the former star of the TBS sitcom "My Boys," as well as a recurring star on "The Ellen Show" and "That '70s Show" in the earlier part of the decade, became the focus of the BMX community at large on Twitter, eliciting responses, sometimes biting, from members of the BMX community who are not in fact 30 years old, including Sunday/Odyssey pro Aaron Ross (age 24), DK team manager Zack Yankush (age 35) and Kink Bikes team member Albert Mercado (age 25).

The cycle of vicious responses from BMX riders lasted for three hours this morning, until Gaffigan, 44, took to Twitter and offered an apology for making what appears to be a sarcastic joke.

"Hey 30-year-old guys who ride BMX bikes, I wasn't talking about the pros. Anyway it was a joke. I'm sorry. Don't hit me with your lunch box," Gaffigan tweeted earlier this afternoon.

Unfortunately, the apology only landed the former star of "Super Troopers" in more hot water with the BMX community by inferring that BMX riders who are not pro still use lunch boxes.

"I'm confused," said Austin, Texas pro Aaron Ross, who is a pro and often eats lunch at Rudy's BBQ in Austin without the use of a lunchbox, paper bag or portable lunch apparatus.

"It's a sad day when I leave the house with my lunchbox and DK Cygnus and get harassed by comedians," said another BMX riding member of Twitter, who wished to remain anonymous but stipulated that he was in fact 30 years of age.
