Just over a week ago, Jackson, N.J.'s Scotty Cranmer won his fourth X Games medal to date, walking away from the BMX Park comp with the Bronze Medal. Cranmer's runs were packed with tricks and speed, but he took a different route than most during the comp, preferring to navigate the circumference of the course before diving in and winning a medal. It naturally turned a lot of heads, and this was the bike that he used to do so -- the Felt BMX Scotty Cranmer signature Franchise Killer frame.

WHAT IT IS:
The Franchise Killer is Cranmer's second signature frame from Felt. First, let's get past the unique name. "Not too many people know what it means. To be completely honest, it's taken from the name of my horse shoe team, the Franchise Killers, and if you wanna challenge us, come and get some," says Cranmer. As far as features go, the frame is constructed of 100% seamless cr-mo double butted tubing, with an ovalized down tube, tapered top tube and stays, full post-weld heat-treating, externally machined seat tube, laser cut dropouts with CNC pockets and removable chain tensioners, integrated seat clamp, removable brake parts, Mid B/B and Campy style integrated headtube with de-bossed FB logo. Top tube sizes include 20.5" and 21", with 13.58" chainstays, 75 degree head tube, 71 degree seat tube and colors of gold or Black ED.

WHY IT RULES:
The Franchise Killer is a step above Scotty's first signature frame with Felt. It's lighter (4.38 lbs), with more tire clearance and a taller seat tube. Plus, one time, it actually helped me win $100 and a Playstation 3 during a makeshift flatland jam following a rain delay at the 2010 Chicago Dew Tour. But don't take my word for it. According to Scotty, "It works awesome on park courses, picks up tons of ladies -- it's just the real deal."

WHERE TO FIND IT:
You can support the man himself by purchasing Scotty's frame directly from the SC Action Sport shop in Howell, N.J., you can purchase it directly from Felt online, or you can find your nearest Felt dealer by punching your zip code into Felt's dealer locator. Anyone up for a game of horse shoes?
