Last week, I happened to read a book entitled 'Christ Stopped at Eboli,' about an Italian painter named Carlo Levi that was banished to the South of Italy during the 1930s and forced to live among peasants in the country side. While there, he battles malaria, studies the local folklore and acts as a doctor for the people of the village. It was a thoroughly engrossing read, one that has nothing at all to do with the following gallery except a sameness in country.

Milan, Italy is not mentioned in the book, but the history of the metropolitan city dates back to ancient times, and what better way to learn about the history of a modern Italian city than with flatland riders? Right. Photographer Ricky Monti recently spent some time in Milan with Italian flatland riders Benjamin Ramirez and Michael Piccolo, and the selection of photos they came back with are nothing short of amazing. Also, if you couldn't already tell, I am completely tapped out of introduction ideas for photo galleries.
