2008 Olympic Silver Medalist Mike Day was in New York City last month making the rounds with GT Bicycles as they unveiled their new 2012 line. Along with meeting with press, Day and teammate Corben Sharrah attended a few press camps and visited the GT Bicycles office up in Bethel, Conn.
For 2012, Mike will be riding a more or less stock GT Speed Series XXL. While GT has stepped up their game in the after market parts race, they are also bridging the gap between a low end and custom bikes by offering their top parts package, which included a new 2012 cassette hub, chromoly forks and chromoly bars). Day plans to make his run for the 2012 Olympic team on an XXXL version of the bike. Between the size of some of the current Supercross tracks and Mike's height of 6' 3", the longer bike will help him adapt a bit easier to the tracks and handle a bit better.

Day won a Silver Medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, becoming the second American ever to win an Olympic medal in the sport of BMX Racing. Day hopes to return to the 2012 London Olympics this summer in London.
