Since the mid '80s, Rick "The Biker in Black" Thorne has played an influential part in the evolution of flatland, park, vert and street, tying those growing aspects of BMX in with his punk rock roots and diehard appetite for touring and demos. Circa 2012, Thorne is still at it, supplementing his BMX tendencies with a band (Good Guys In Black), a family, voiceover work for Sirius/XM, acting and daily ten mile bike rides that involve hang fives along the beach. Recently, we caught up with Thorne to run through a typical day in the life, and even though he's moving onward and upward with his music, he still keeps it true to his BMX roots. Welcome to the Rick Thorne Day in the Life.
