Live from Chicago.

Well, is it an entrance or not? I love asking security if they know where the athlete's entrance is while I'm standing in front of this sign.

Well, I made it to Chicago in one piece, and though I got really, really lost on the way from the hotel to the event, I also made it there in one piece. The event is being held in Grant Park, and it's about a three-mile walk from my hotel. I'm not complaining though; I like it here.

Enough about me though. You want dirt. A dude named Hector did a backflip barspin to candybar on dirt and in park. Sean Sexton pulled an uprail toothpick hangover to 360 out (his first ever) and another unknown guy in park did a wild frontflip tailwhip and frontflip superman, which both looked like there was no way he was going to ride out, but come last second, he actually did. I'll have more updates on the craziness tomorrow though. Today was just open qualifiers, so everyone was taking it easy. But I'm using that term relatively.

Chris Doyle in front of the cement dirt jumps. Yup, you heard right.

Also, please excuse the few point and shoot photos I managed today. Security doesn't really like people walking around and taking photos. Found that one out the hard way last year in Baltimore. See you tomorrow with some prelims and finals action. RIP Michael Jackson.
