Day One:
So the trip started out with, me, JJ Palmere, Steve-o, Lil Jessie, and Bryan Carter arriving from our long flight to Barcelona. We went to get our luggage and of course, one person had to get screwed over at baggage claim. That person was JJ. So we wait for what seems like forever. Then, no bag shows, we say, "Screw it, let's go through customs and sort the whole missing bag thing out afterwards." Not so fast, Carter starts running back to me, Jessie, Steve-o, and JJ from the customs area and says "Um, they said we all have to come through together and the guy doesn't seem too happy." Long story short, we got held up at customs because our crazy stewardess was fairly short with JJ, but in true New Jersey style, he sassed her back into shape. Now let me say this with no exaggeration: JJ and Auggie literally cleaned out the alcoholic beverage stock on board the plane between the two of them. So you can imagine how all this confusion came about.

Day Two
Day two is day one, as we never went to bed. After the customs nightmare, we hailed some cabs and got a ride to our hotel. We met Garrett Reynolds in the room and started building our bikes. Auggie and I both needed some air so Auggie went first and I left with Garrett, Kevin Kiraly, (whose new nickname is Krayola by the way), JJ, Colin Varanyak and Steve-o. We went out in our own group and started exploring the city. We saw a bunch of sick spots and just relaxed in beautiful Barcelona. We get back to the hotel and talked about going out to some party or club event called 'Nasty Monday.' We had heard about this event from are totally awesome friends, Fernando and Juan who also happened to be our guides. Fernando promoted the event, so we basically got the VIP treatment. As he's telling us about the event, everyone becomes more and more amped with the idea of going. Tons of hot beautiful European girls, free drinks and oh yeah, the club was the size of a small warehouse with over 1000 people that were expected to attend. To say you have to be there to properly appreciate what was happening would be an understatement. I can only best describe it as a rave party minus the really terrible music. This was by far one of the most memorable nights for all of us. By the way, the club didn't pop off till way later in the AM, so you can say it was a long night.

Day Three:
Day three of the trip was spent recovering from the night of day two; none of us woke up till about six in the afternoon. Enough said!

Day Four:
We finally got a decent night's rest. Juan met up with us at the local falafel joint that has become the crew's breakfast spot. After we scarfed down some Plato nuggets, we washed them down with brown waters and headed over to the Metro to take us up into the mountains. We rode some cruiser warm-up ledge spots and clocked some solid footage. Then we continued to the next spot, which was an outdoor ledge that had actual round coping on it. Only in Barcelona, right? The next spot we cruised to was another ledge spot that everyone rode until it was too dark out to ride. We all decided to not take the Metro back and just ride back through town since it was all downhill.

BIG MISTAKE!

• First, these are like San Francisco style hills and roads that send you flying.

• Second, there's mad dust and most of the sidewalks were marble, so trying to stop with your shoes is nearly futile.

• Third, we lost Juan and each other, then got separated into four different groups, all not knowing where to go or how to speak Spanish. Somehow we all made it back though. Yours truly was the only one who was by himself. Thank god I found someone that spoke a lick of English. Otherwise I would probably would have slept in a gutter for the night!

Day Five:
We woke up early (around 2pm) and got some banger food from Dunkin Donuts, while the other half of the crew scarfed down some paella. The D and D group broke out and rode some huge trannies by the sea. We spent a lot of time there and saw another group of riders who were also on holiday in Lona, filming and shooting photos. Next, we went to the stacker ledges and putzed around while Garrett and Kevin threw down some sick tricks. We then decided it would be a good idea to go to the bar.

Wrong.

Auggie and Jessie got so hosed that when they got back in the room, Jessie jumped onto all of us chilling and Auggie attempted to throw a chair out the window (but missed and almost took out a flat screen TV.) The front desk person got a complaint because of all of the commotion and promptly came upstairs only to witness Jessie swan-diving over a pile of bikes and landing on his face. The hotel guy was not pleased to say the least. Normally we wouldn't be so rowdy, but the hotel staff and manager had been total jerks towards us and we were shelling out mad bread for this place. Stay tuned for more of Deadline En Barcelona later this week!

Day Seven
The crew arose with riding in their minds. Colin still had another day left till he flew home so he decided he wasn't going to miss out and rode around with us even though his arm was slanged up. We only had one thing stopping us. We got the boot from the hotel at 11:30 in the morning and the front desk person at the hotel informed Steve-o that if we weren't out in ten minutes that they were going to call the police and have us removed. Word up to the Apsis Porta Marina hotel.

After hearing the news we all decorated the bathrooms and left as much garbage on the floor of the bedrooms as we could, it's the least we could do. We scrambled to find a hotel and ending up finding the last place in town (which was a hostel right in the center of downtown.) We went from a four star hotel to a jail cell basically. Whatever, being in a dirty hotel is the proper place for us anyways. After we moved into our new living space, the session began quickly on this bank spot a block away from the hotel. We then moved into the city for some more riding. On our way back, we happened to catch a fountain show at the palace, to the tune of Beethoven and Mozart. After the show we cruised back to our hostel and showered in preparation for the night's activities. We decided to start our rampage on Ramblas, which is like the main tourist area in downtown. After about an hour of running around and getting separated, we all meet up and head out to a disco called City Hall and that was the rest of our night.

Day Eight
We wake up rather chipper considering that the night before (half the crew got into a battle royale with about twenty Argentineans.) Twenty on seven? Guess what? When you have Auggie Simoncini on your side, it doesn't matter how many dudes there are or how big they are. We mostly made our way out of the hostel and were promptly met by a squad of younger Spanish riders. They recognized Garrett and Ty immediately. A photo session ensued and they followed us to the setup down the street and we all started to session. Everyone got some clips, so we decided to go to the stacker ledges and get some business handled. The sesh continued into the night and we all ended up just going back and saving ourselves for tomorrow.

Day Nine
Today was our last nasty Monday night. All of the crew could talk about was the possibility of another, crazy European disco night. We went out, got some clips around the city. First spot we hit was the sea walls again; everyone loved that spot and it was right next to the big block set and the stacker ledges. Steve got a great line, then started to try an even better one! After several attempts, he ended up snapping his axle.

Around that time the crew was ready to get showered and go out for the evening's festivities. We arrived at the club and chilled out front to chug down some cheap beers. Fernando comes over to us and tells us, "It's time." So we drink our last sips and go inside to the same scene, except hotter girls this time. These two girls from Sweden actually came up to some of the members of the crew and told them they saw them riding in the city the day prior and decided that they wanted to hang out with us for the rest of the night. Two of the members went home with them and the rest of the crew ended up going back to the hostel a little bit early. We still had one more time to ride since our flights weren't till 4 AM the next day, so everyone wanted some fresh batteries.

Day Ten
The crew awoke ready to go out and kill some spots. Today was our last day in Spain. The time had gone by so fast but at the same time, we felt like we were living there for a month. Garrett decided that we should go out and ride in the hood of Lona as that's were a bunch of untouched spots there. We went to our first spot and got yelled at in Spanish by three different people. We headed out and went to some other wild bank spots instead. We got to see and ride the famous waves spot again too. After a long day of riding, a majority of the crew who had early flights packed it in and headed back to the hostel.

Corey and I got lost riding back for the sixth time of the trip. We found our way back to civilization and stopped by the Salvador Dali school of art and took some pics of the sculpture replicas in the foyer. We then arrived at the hostel to see Juan and Fernando waiting for us to say their goodbyes. Those guys were the best on the trip. The whole Deadline team would like to give a big shout out to them! We packed all our stuff, took our bikes apart and just chilled outside the hostel till it was time to get a cab and fly home. Garrett and Kevin were flying to Orlando for Dew Tour and Corey was staying an extra week to sightsee and travel a bit more around Europe. This was one the best trips I've ever been on and for the rest of the crew as well. If you think Barcelona is blown out on all the spots, think again. There are so many untouched spots that you could film an entire video part there. If you have the time or resources to go, do it! If you do go, hit up Juan and Fernando and they'll show you the best time of you life.
