Shadow ConspiracyThe Shadow Conspiracy's Interlock V2 chain is now available in a coffin-shaped box, which seems fitting for Halloween.

Years ago, I would buy half-links at hardware stores to adjust my chain and get my rear wheel right where I wanted it in the rear dropout. Then, several years ago, The Shadow Conspiracy took all the guessing and hardware store tinkering out of chain adjustment, when they developed the first half-link chain for BMX. Enter the Interlock V2.

Shadow ConspiracyThe Shadow Interlock V2 chain is available in a wealth of colors. Personally, I go with black.

WHAT IT IS:
The Shadow Interlock V2 chain is the original half-link chain from The Shadow Conspiracy. Available in a 1/8" size, the chain is heat-treated and includes 98 links and two master pins. The Interlock V2 is available in a variety of colors, and colored chains are Teflon coated to reduce friction. The Interlock is compatible with 8t cassette hub drivers and up, and weighs 11.3 oz for the average chain size (72 links). The Interlock V2 is patent pending and now comes available in a coffin-shaped box. "We finally retired the infamous Interlock Chain metal tin and replaced it with this ultra, high quality coffin pillbox. Just like our previous tin, these can be used for anything," says The Shadow Conspiracy.

WHY IT RULES:
Aside from the fact that most of the top pros, regardless of their component sponsor, ride the Interlock V2 chain, we like it for the chain's ability to finely pinpoint the rear-end length of your bike. Because of the half-link length of each link, you can adjust your rear wheel to be exactly where you want it in the rear dropout. In the past, with a regular link chain, that wasn't always as easy as it sounds, but the Shadow Interlock V2 chain makes it a cinch, and in this world of micro dropouts and exacting rear end sizes, it's a big help.

WHERE TO FIND IT:
The Interlock V2 chain is available from Empire BMX, Staff BMX, Albe's and Dan's Comp, as well as your local Shadow Conspiracy dealer, which can be found here.
