Fear is a part of life, but it plays even a bigger role in a sport like FMX. I know first hand how fear can make or break a rider, because it eventually made me rethink my professional career. As soon as a rider allows fear to overtake their mind -- no longer having faith in their own abilities -- bad things happen and that's when it's time to call it quits ... at least that's the route I took. When all you can think about is crashing and getting injured, that's exactly what's going to happen.
Investigating this further, Red Bull hooked up with the Red Bull X-Fighters riders at the London round of the '09 series to get their opinion on the matter. It's actually a really cool video and it makes you think and gain a new respect for the riders. But quite honestly, the commentator sounds like a kook. He's like the same dude that does voiceovers for action/thriller movie trailers.
