The 2010 Red Bull XRAY, presented by Robbie Maddison went off this past weekend in the picturesque hills of Picton's (NSW) Razorback mountains, where 15,000 hardcore Australian FMX watched their favorite riders compete in this one of a kind event.

Qualifying first in the FMX sector of the event, hometown hero and event creator Maddison looked to be the man to beat, repeating his flawless win in 2009. But, with such stiff competition coming from Japan's Taka Higashino, and last-minute entry, Brody Wilson -- and his nagging wrist injury -- Higashino would eventually get the best of Maddo. The FMX final came down to a battle between Higashono and Maddo as they battled it out head-to-head. Both riders threw down big flips tricks that were rarely seen all weekend due to the challenging course, but it was Higashino who was victorious after fitting an extra jump into his run, as well as throwing down a massive seat-grab flip over the 120-ft. tabletop chased down by another flip over the return jump.

"I'm super happy," said the likeable Japanese rider. "I'm so tired! We rode so much -- three entire days, but it was so much fun. Maddo gave me a good challenge today, but I'm super stoked for the win!"

Maddo happy for Higashino, but more than anything he was just thankful to get through that portion of the contest without hurting his wrist any further. "I've riding with Taka a lot the last year and I'm so stoked for him," said Maddo. "Once again, this event has worked out so well and it's unreal to so many of my hometown fans come out and cheer us on," He went on to finish, "My wrist has been giving me a bit of grief and when Taka stepped it up for the final run, I knew I just had to give it everything I could. I'm happy though and here to ride another day."

Brody Wilson rode strongly to finish in third place, edging out X Games gold medalist Cameron Sinclair.

With a stacked field of both national level racers and international FMX stars, the Speed & Style portion of the event proved to be just as exciting as the year prior. In the final round, it was FMX winner Taka Higashino and FMX/racer Robbie Marshall who battled it out in the head-to-head format. In the end, Marshall's sheer speed and polished tricks were enough to nab him the win ahead of Higashino, even though he flipped multiple jumps and pulled bigger tricks than Marshall.

"I'm Super stoked on winning speed and style," said Marshall. "It was a great weekend and I had a ball with boys. The five grand is going to look pretty good in my bank account too!"
