After scraping for copper pennies just to get to L.A., you can imagine how pumped KJ was to walk off the Speed & Style track with a big hunk of gold around his neck.
No, I'm not talking about Kevin Federline, I'm talking about Speed & Style winner Kevin Johnson. Well, I'm sure Federline has plenty of speed, but I know for a fact that he ain't got no style. Anyhoo, coming into an event where anything can happen, everyone knew that Johnson would be fast, but what they weren't expecting is how much style he'd be bringing to the Home Depot Center. "I knew I had the track dialedI'm extremely comfortable on these tight supercross style tracks, but I knew that I had to step up my tricks if I wanted to have a chance at a medal", explains Kevin. Being the sharing guy that he is, "Cowboy" Kenny Bartram invited Kevin out to his place in Stillwater, Oklahoma and gave him a crash course in FMX 101. "Honestly, I'm just blown away that I'm wearing this gold medal around my neck right now. I barely made it out to L.A. because I was hurting so bad for money. My crew and I had to scrape up all of our change just to get a hotel. Luckily at the last minute, Pilot fuel stations donated a gas card for our trip, but unfortunately it only got us to Arizona", finishes Kevin.
"I really feel like any of these guys could've beat meif Nate Adams and Travis Pastrana wouldn't have knocked themselves out of contention, there is no way I'd be here now."
If you weren't tuned into the live telecast, Speed & Style favorite, Travis Pastrana took himself out in his first heat leaving the door wide open for the rest of the field and Nate Adams took a pretty big spill on his parade lap. Be sure to check back throughout the day for updates on Nate, as well as video from the event.

Leyba is a bitter, retired FMX rider that likes to sit in his cubicle and call the professionals of the sport wussies for not pulling 360s and double backflips. He claims he quit riding FMX before flips were even invented... yeah, right.
Cliff Talley
Making FMX videos exciting is easy. Making them look good is not. Cliff Talley does both of these well and still manages to find enough time to piss off his neighbors with his Travis Barker-esque drum skills.
Chris Tedesco
You've seen his photos on the covers of Transworld, Racer X and more. You've also seen his tequila shooting skills at your local dive bar. Ladies, Chris is single and looking to mingle.
Grant "Goba" O'brien
FMX in Australia wouldn't exist if it weren't for Goba. Well, maybe it would, but it wouldn't be nearly as cool. I don't know why, but we can't quit calling him gobalobadingdong it just rolls off the tongue.
Tes Sewell
Tes is the dude that's always involved in everything that's going on in FMX. How he does it, we don't know, but that's the reason we hired him to share his plethora of FMX wisdom in the form of a monthly column.
