It's rare that a motocross racer or FMX rider has talents beyond the bike, but Colorado's Logan Darien breaks the mold. We've featured Logan and his and Nate Adams' new company DEFT here on ESPN FMX in the past, but we've never really got to see any of Logan's art and pick his brain about his second passion. We gathered a few of Logan's sweetest artistic masterpieces and questioned him on how he got to be just so damn fresh.
Garth Milan
The man, the myth, the artist ... Logan Darien.
How old were you when you first realized you were into art? You know drawing and stuff.
Basically since I can remember I've been drawing, painting and just being artistic. I remember going to church as a good little kid with a drawing pad and just drawing the entire service. (laughs)
Do you still have any of your old drawings?
Yeah, my mom kept everything. She's always been really behind my art and my dad's always been behind my racing so they battled about me racing a few times.
That's kind of funny man. Did you ever paint any of your own helmets?
Nah, I helped my buddy Brian Bechtal design my last DEFT lid, but he painted it. It was something I've always wanted to do, but just never got around to it. I do a lot of stuff with paint pens though like New Era hats and shoes and random stuff like that.

Logan's praying hands tribute to the fallen Jeremy Lusk became iconic among the motocross community.
Cool, so you're not scared to get all three-dimensional and stuff?
Nah man, I love to throw back a few Corona's, blast some Iggy Chop beats and get some son! (laughs)
What are three artistic things you did that you are most proud of?
My new glove company DEFT takes the cake for sure. That's my baby... and I painted a pic of Ricky Carmichael in high school that I was pretty pumped on. It took me like three months. And I'm proud of all the random burners my friends and I threw up in the town I lived in growing up ... good times.
If you had a few million dollars to spend on a historic painting or piece or art, what would it be?
Umm ... probably Banksy's version of the Mona Lisa with the happy face. That dude's funnyI'm a big fan. (laughs)

Logan's got skills on the paint pens as well. Here's a hat that he customized for New Era.

Logan's biggest artistic accomplishment has been creating the brand identity and designs for his company DEFT. Pretty sick, huh?

If you were paying close attention, you may have seen Nate Adams rocking these Logan Darien custom painted boots at X Games.

Leyba is a bitter, retired FMX rider that likes to sit in his cubicle and call the professionals of the sport wussies for not pulling 360s and double backflips. He claims he quit riding FMX before flips were even invented... yeah, right.

Making FMX videos exciting is easy. Making them look good is not. Cliff Talley does both of these well and still manages to find enough time to piss off his neighbors with his Travis Barker-esque drum skills.
Chris Tedesco
You've seen his photos on the covers of Transworld, Racer X and more. You've also seen his tequila shooting skills at your local dive bar. Ladies, Chris is single and looking to mingle.
Grant "Goba" O'brien
FMX in Australia wouldn't exist if it weren't for Goba. Well, maybe it would, but it wouldn't be nearly as cool. I don't know why, but we can't quit calling him gobalobadingdong it just rolls off the tongue.
Tes Sewell
Tes is the dude that's always involved in everything that's going on in FMX. How he does it, we don't know, but that's the reason we hired him to share his plethora of FMX wisdom in the form of a monthly column.
