The Monster Energy AMA Supercross series opener in Anaheim is always the most anticipated Supercross race of the year and the excitement around this year's opener was even more intense due to a field in both the Lites and Supercross class that is more stacked than we've seen in years past. In the premier Supercross class, the "big four" that were garnering all the attention were 2010 champion Ryan Dungey, James Stewart, Ryan Villopoto and Chad Reed, and they didn't disappoint -- but it was Villopoto who came out on top and set his 2011 season off the best way possible.

In the Lites class, there were a handful of riders that could've taken the win, with more than a few unknowns sprinkled in the mix. However, the rider who took the convincing win over his two teammates was Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki's Josh Hansen, who many wrote off due to his patchy past results.
