ARLINGTON, Texas -- Ryan Villopoto raced to his third straight AMA Supercross victory and fourth in seven rounds this season, edging Ryan Dungey on Saturday night in front of 53,952 fans at Cowboys Stadium.

Villopoto, the Kawasaki star from Poulsbo, Wash., extended his season points lead to 13 points.

Honda's Chad Reed, from Dade City, Fla., crashed while stalking Villopoto midway through the final.

"The track really broke down out there tonight, and when that happens, you have to be smart and play it safe," Villopoto said. "It's a bummer for Chad. I'm looking forward to next weekend in Atlanta."

Earlier, Honda's Justin Barcia, from Ochlocknee, Ga., won the opening race of the Eastern Regional Supercross Lites Class Championship.

"They didn't make it easy on me tonight," Barcia said. "I had a great night ... I have learned a lot from the past few years, and it paid off tonight."
