Hey guys, Nate here. It's going be a long and awesome el nino winter of blahging, so I won't go too deep into my own introduction. Suffice it to say that I'm a photographer and that you'll be seeing a lot more of my posts on ESPN Freeskiing. Also keep your eyes peeled for the photo galleries I'll be publishing once a month.
And as the North American season is just getting rolling, I'm throwing out my favorite form of written organization, the bullet list:
First, check out some amazing one-minute ski edits here, so you can voice your opinion on the competitor's list for King of Style Big Air contest in Stockholm. So far I'm backing Chug Cosco, Durtschi and Martini, but those are the only I've had a chance to check out, so I'm going to waste a few more minutes once I get this posted. Hopefully I'll bring you a post from on location at the contest after it all goes down November 21st.
On newsstands now, the Women's Issue of Freeskier, featuring a Photo Essay by yours truly. It's kind of embarrassing hanging out with these girls since they dance better, get way more radical on the jumps, laugh more, do more sit-ups and generally rule life harder than I do. But they don't make too much fun of me, which I guess is why we call them the fairer sex. Right?
Speaking of women, Grete Eliassen, who is doing her own two-year video project Say My Name, sent an update on one of the causes she supports and their annual gathering in New York City:

Ashley Fiolek (motorcross), Grete Eliassen, Lyn-z Adams Hawkins (skateboarder), Emily Cook (aerials) and Kerry Strug (gymnast) getting all SATC.
This was my third time attending the Women's Sport's Foundation "Salute To Women In Sports Dinner," at the Waldorf Astoria in NYC. I was also award the "Yolanda L. Jackson Give Back Award," the night before by none other than Billie Jean King herself on an athlete cruise around Manhattan. The Annual Salute dinner took place on Tuesday night and it was a dinner to remember, awards being given to basketball player Kiffarra Stewart, coach Pat Summit, gymnast Courtney Kupets and many more. It is truly the most inspirational and rewarding nights in women's sports today. Only one time a year all female athletes can come together and celebrate the achievements and remembering Title IX where it all started. I had so much fun meeting all the women and I cannot wait until next year!

Seth Morrison does hot laps and every trick in the book every day at the Barn.
Woodward at Copper has been a frequent Fall gathering spot for the professional skiers of Colorado. With only the ribbon of death at Loveland and Arapaho Basin, and many just having returned from training in the parks and pipes of New Zealand, it's been nice to have mellow, warm and legit training. On any given day you can expect to see Seth Morrison, Mike Hornbeck, Matt Walker, Jessica Cumming, Peter and Meg Olenick, Bobby Brown, Keri Herman, and others skating, hitting the dry slope jumps and the trampolines. My boy Mark even got me doing backflips without landing on my head, so you know even someone with no skills can have hope.

Colby West and his new whip.
Colby James West replaced his red rocket with a black one. Some sort of Suzuki 600, which, although he can't sleep in the back of it, does deliver him to some of the finest couches in Boulder, Colorado until his lease up in Breckenridge kicks in next month.
Colby was also over in Berlin for the second Freestyle.ch big air event. Much talk last weekend about trying new grabs on double flips and how much harder it is to get them around when you can't just grab mute and whip your body around. I'm looking forward to some new rotations and new spins on the big tricks this winter. Congrats to your winner, Henrik Harlaut, with the best of many dub corks.
And hey, I appreciate the snowboard site yobeat.com for letting me know about Drank Beverage. After all the support from Red Bull and Monster through the years, lord knows I need something to help me "Slow my Roll" at the end of the day.
