Canadian slopestyle skier Kim Lamarre started skiing at three years old, but she didn't take the usual steps to becoming a pro skier. No racing background, no moguls training, Lamarre liked skiing for fun at local mountains in Quebec, where she grew up. Her breakthrough came in 2011 with a Slopestyle bronze at Winter X Games Europe. The timing was perfect -- slopestyle became an Olympic sport a month later, and Lamarre was named to the Canadian A team. ESPN Freeskiing caught up with Lamarre in Breckenridge, Colo., recently to talk about training with the national team, what she's working on to chase a Winter X Games gold, and her friendship with slopestyle queen and teammate Kaya Turski.
