The Basics

On July 25 in downtown Chicago, Ronnie Renner smashed his previous motorcycle quarterpipe height record of 59 feet 2 inches by sailing over three feet higher, setting a new record at an astonishing 63 feet 5 inches. It was this time last year when Renner set his initial record on the Santa Monica pier at the Red Bull Experiment, but like most competitive athletes, Renner knew he could do better and that he did. What's next for Renner? He's keeping tight lipped about the future, but he mentioned that he's not a risk-taking stuntman like his Red Bull teammate Robbie Maddison. So let us get this straight, setting the new quarterpipe height record isn't risky? (Garth Milan/Red Bull Photofiles)
