San Juan Capistrano, CA (May 13, 2009) — All the superstition surrounding Superpark 13 may have served everyone well. While the week started off with a little weather, it ended with some wondering if Superpark 13 presented by Gatorade might just be the "best Superpark of all time."

On Day 1 Lonnie Kauk, Pat Moore, Chelone Miller, and a dozen other heavy hitters set the tone for a week of super sized sessions. The "Loonatic" jump, a massive hip that took 37 hours to craft and a half-bowl with a giant cheese wedge in the middle were the epicenter of much of the action.

"I am so pleased with Super Park 13. It was by far the best park ever built and the riding proved that," said Oren Tanzer, Director, Y.A.S Marketing, "I was lucky enough to be present for many feats of super human ability. The work that our builders put in was enormous with the days blending into each other." Chris Engelsman, Snowboarder's Publisher, agreed "It was a great event with amazing talent from both the riders and park builders."

Superpark 13 went off without a hitch and the unveiling of the Gatorade Fruit Punch Pond Skim by Mammoth's Unbound squad on Day 4 was a fun finale to a long week of progressive snowboarding. "The riders at Superpark push one another on the mountain, but are relaxed and focused on having a good time; as a result the riding is really innovative," said Kenny Mitchell action sports team manager with Gatorade. "We are thrilled to be working with Snowboarder on their Superpark events and continue to be impressed with the level of progression of the riders."

Snowboarder's Editor, Pat Bridges proclaimed, "Superpark was so fun, so next level, so unbelievable that I believe it has set Snowboard video games back 10 years; the only down side is that we have to wait 12 months to play again."

"A big thanks goes out to Gatorade, Mammoth, Bear, and Loon for their help in pulling off the best Superpark yet," said Chris Engelsman on behalf of the whole Snowboarder crew. "The only question is: how do we top it next year?"
